Ride with the Moon

The past few days have been rather ... shall we say ... interesting. Although Halloween was on Sunday, my little town felt it was appropriate to have trick-or-treating this past Thursday, which consisted of nothing more than going from porch to porch picking a piece of candy out of a bucket left there.

Hate is a four-lettered word

There are few things in this ever shrinking world that manage to unite tens of thousands of people who are all angry at the same thing. Even Whitney Hillman - the highschool junior who kidnapped (chickennapped?) her chicken from her classroom and ran out the door and into an awaiting car all in an effort to save him from being slaughtered at school for means of a project - hasn't reached 2000 supporters yet.

You are not a threat

While reading a stay at home mom's blog - who also happens to be a conservative Christian who believes in the whole biblical marriage deal - I found something rather .. shall we say .. in need of some editting and research. She's talking to others like her, who "choose to train to become a homemaker" and "choose to live at home with your parents and serve your family until you become a wife and mother" and - most importantly - "live under the jurisdiction of your parents until you are given in marriage to a godly young man to whom you choose to submit" due to biblical teachings. "And you're a threat", she says, to the feminist movement. Her blog has quite a following as there are many, many responses to this post, all of them applauding her, agreeing with her. But I must say, I respectfully disagree.

Homeschooling does not equal conservative christian

Although conservative christian does usually equal homeschooling.


Recently, I've noticed an increase in writings about homeschooling and how conservative Christians love it. While this is true, I've also noticed an increase in people assuming that homeschooling one's children means that one is a conservative christian, and that's just not true.
